I wanted to cry with her, laugh with her, slap her and hug her all at the same time. Merit was such an interesting character and very relatable. And I’m tired of being the one person in this house who has to hold on to all of them! I’m sick of the secrets and I’m sick of the lies. I like how even though he was detached, he seemed to know what others needed and provided for them as best as he could. But before I can reflect too much on that comment, he says, “It’s my favorite thing about you.”
I certainly didn’t expect a wild crazy ride, but I definitely enjoyed it. But his emotional unavailability could end up complicating everything.īefore starting this book, I had no idea what it’s about. Things changed when the mysterious and enigmatic young man Sagan Kattan came into her life when she needed him the most. She was tired of being left behind and the burden of carrying their secrets was quickly drowning her. Merit Voss might shared last name with her family, but she never felt belong.
